This highly sought after razor is a vintage Dubl Duck "Lifetime Grim Reaper". Like all dubl duck razoes this Reaper too, was made in Germany. Grim Reapers were made duruing the very beginning of the dubl duck line and as such not many of the Reapers were made, hence they are extremely rare and highly sought after. Personally, in 22 years in the straight razor business and having handled over ten thousand straights I have owned only 2 reapers and seen only about 5,including this razor. Reapers are considered by experts in the field to be the "holy Grail" of straight razors, because of their exquisite design, high quality and immense rareness. They are so rare you can go a whole lifetime and never see one of them. The blade width on this razor is 5/8+ wide, is made of carbon steel with a hollow grind. The blade has highly polished, mirror finished blade faces. The scales are in excellent lustrous condition, (see photos). Included with this razor is its original leather case. It is in poor condition but could be re-worked by stitching the broken thread areas and used again with a new snap or fold over top. This case is original with the faint, but legible printing on the side of the case, "dubl duck LIFETIME" with the two duck images. This razor is over 100 years old. Recently honed and stropped to provide a smooth, close and comfortable shave, this razor comes guaranteed to be shave ready.
