This is a very nice Vintage Gillette Fat Boy Adjustable Safety Razor that is in excellent defect and blemish free condition. For being as old as it is, this razor has been well stored and taken care of. EVERYTHING on this razor works perfectly, exactly as when it was new. This adjuster works perfectly with audible clicks and the butterfly doors open and close smooth and effortlessly and they lock into the closed position as intended. This razor bears the date code of E-2 which indicates it's date of manufacture was during the 2nd quarter of 1959. Included with this razor is a sealed in plastic from the factory package of 5 brand new, Derby double edge Blades. Derby Blades are made in Sweden from tungsten stainless steel, and coated with chromium, ceramic and platinum for optimum edge strength and longer lasting shaving life and comfort. They are greatly advanced compared to the blades of old. No real restoration was needed for this razor. All that was needed was to thoroughly clean and sanitize it. NOTE: Back in the day these vintage safety razors were made extremely well and to last. They provide a very economical alternative shaving method compared to the cost of present day safety razors and the shave quality doesn't show any inferiority. The blades are readily available as can be attested by the several companies that today, still make just the blades that are still being manufactured and sold in abundance today. Indeed, this is a very nice razor.
