This Filarmonica (as all Filarmonicas) was made in Spain and this razor is the Sub Cero model. This description stating Sub Cero defines the steel used, which is stainless Steel, and the hardening method used was cryogenic hardening. Cryo hardening is a method used by the deep freezing process. Cryogenic hardening, is performedf at temperatures approximately 80 degrees below zero, and the outcome of this method of tempering assures a blade with an extra sharp and longer lasting cutting edge than plain carbon steel blades. It is said that deep frozen razors shave gentler, smoother, cleaner and glide as smooth as velvet over the skin. Frozen tempered razors only have to be honed once or twice a year. They also are much easier to take care of since they have great rust resistance compared to plain carbon steel blades. They are considered the best quality blades available. Some say the Sub Cero Fili razor is the best shaver of all the Fili's. This particular razor is one of the Jose Monserrat Pou original Filarmonica razors and not one of the razors made after Jose Monserrat's death. The proof of this is in Jose's name printed on the tang, the ones after his death do not have his name printed on them. Showing only very light hone wear this razor is in perfect blemish and defect free condition. This razor's blade size is a full 6/8 and is hollow ground. The tang is both top and bottom jimped for a better non-slip grip. The scales on this razor are the factory original with blue colorated celluloid. They are in like new condition. Recently honed to provide a smooth, close and comfortable shave, this razor comes to you guaranteed shave ready.
