This is a Schick Type B - 1 magazine repeating razor and was made by the Schick Magazine Repeating Razor Company in New York between 1927 until 1932. This particular razor is in excellent aesthetic condition and completely perfect mechanical condition. It has been completely gone over mechanically, and 20 "test" blades have been run through it to insure proper working condition. It's outside surfaces have also been cleaned and polished. These repeating razors were either silver plated or gold plated. This one is silver plated. With this B - 1 version the head is always exposed. This head can be swiveled to the open position for shaving. At the opposite end of the head is the handle. In the handle is what is called a magazine. This magazine is removable to load new blades into it when it becomes empty. One cool feature of these early Schick razors is the way the blades work. Blades are stored in the removable magazine in the handle, and you work a mechanism much like loading a rifle to eject and replace the blade. The magazine holds 20 blades. This razor comes with 20 brand new unused blades loaded into the magazine and one loaded into the head. Included with this razor are instructions how to load new blades into this razor. More blades can be added when desired. Once all the blades have been used and ejected, the magazine can be removed and reloaded with new blades. This razor uses the exact same injector blades that are manufactured and being sold in stores for the more usually seen, different colored bakelite handled injector razors. These old vintage injector razors are not being made anymore, but were so well made they were made to last, and last they have. There are plenty of the different types of old injector razors still available and in use today, as can be attested to by the several companies that today, still make the blades, including Schick whose factory is now in Germany and their easily attainable blades are sold worldwide. These injector blades sell for less than $1.00 per blade. Just Google "injector blades" and you will find many sources for Schick, Persona and other brands of injector blades. Many drug stores and Walmart type stores also sell these blades. This injector razor will provide a very economical alternative shaving method compared to the cost of present day safety razors. Because of it's compact size this razor is a perfect travel razor. It measures 4 1/2" long by about 1/2" square. Just toss it in a small toilet article case and away you go. This neat razor has been fully restored aesthetically and mechanically. It has been operated to insure it works properly, and it does. AND, this razor is ready to go and ready to shave with. Just swivel the head and start shaving.
