This is a very old George Butler razor. George Butler was in business at Trinity Works in Sheffield, England from 1848 until 1926. This razor was most likely made in the 1900's portion of these dates. It is now in better aesthetic condition than when new. This razor shows almost no previous usage by the indications of almost no previous honing. The blade is 5/8 wide, is made of carbon steel with a hollow grind. The scales are the original factory scales. They are genuine ivory scales and are stunning, and beautifully textured. Luxurious by nature, ivory will go very nicely with any blade, and ivory will improve the looks and value of any blade, but because of its scarcity and higher value over most scale materials, it is only installed on the very highest quality razors. These genuine ivory scales are in perfect blemish and defect free, flawless condition. They are held together and attached to the blade with a threaded pivot pin and micro hex nuts. This razor is in perfect like new working condition in every respect. Included with this razor is a George Butler razor box. This box is not original to this particular razor but is a George Butler box. It is in perfect physical condition and nice Esthetic condition. Honed recently to provide a smooth, close and comfortable shave, this razor comes guaranteed shave ready.
