This is a beautiful Eric Anton Berg straight razor that was made in Eskilstuna, Sweden. This razor is in blemish and defect free, unused condition. Swedish razors have a stand alone quality that distinguishes from other razors, because of their unfailing quality of steel and manufacturing standards. Not that they are better than any top quality razors, but they are as good as any razor made, with a superb unfailing reputaion. I don't know when this razor was made, but it is on record that the company started in business in 1879, with no records I can find as to when production was stopped, but it was stopped and has not been made for quite some time. The blade on this razor is a nice 5/8 wide, is made of carbon steel with a hollow grind and a supremely lustrous mirror finish. This razor's original scales were repalced with stunning, beautifully textured, ivory scales. Luxurious by nature, ivory will go very nicely with any blade, and ivory will improve the looks and value of any blade, but because of it's scarcity and higher value over most scale materials, it is only installed on the very highest quality razors. These genuine ivory scales are in perfect blemish and defect free, flawless condition. These scales are held together and attached to the blade with threaded pins and removable micro hex nuts. Recently honed to provide a smooth, close and comfortable shave, this razor comes guaranteed shave ready.
