Here is a George Savage & Sons razor. George Savage was only in business from 1841 to 1843, so the highly sought after Savage razors are extremely rare. Printed on the tang of this Savage razor is GEO SAVAGE & SONS, XX PATENT TEMPERED. Geo Savage razors are well known to be of the very best quality and were and still are among the best shavers and are highly sought after. This particular Savage has moderate honing wear, but with a 5/8 wide blade still has a lifetime of shaving use left in it. The overall condition of this blade is superb with no defects. The 5/8 wide blade is made of carbon steel with a half hollow grind. This razor's blade is fitted with old horn scales. These scales have a beautiful aged lustrous sheen and and coloration. This razor has been recently honed to provide a clean, close and comfortable shave, and it comes guaranteed shave ready. This razor will make a nostalgic shaving companion with the charisma of shaving with a 175 year old razor.
