This is a Gillette 3 piece, Standard Tech double edge safety razor. It was one model of the "New Gillette" series, and came onto the test market in 1938 and was offered nationally in 1939 during the world series. it's era extended well into the 1970's. This razor is in perfect physical condition, but is mildly off aesthetically due to surface refinishing. The gold plate on the head top piece has been worn off from polishing, to reveal the glossy nickel plate. This can be seen in the second photo. This is still a very good inexpensive razor that will last a lifetime because of it's simplicity and non mechanical, 3 piece structure. It has been resurfaced on all surfaces and thus sanitized, cleaned and polished. Included with this razor is 45 brand new factory sealed double edge blades of various makes, enough to last the average shaver more than a year. They are all top notch quality. These 3 piece razors were constructed to be very simple and exceptionally easy to maintain and keep clean. They are easily maintained with no areas, aka, crevices or hidden places that can not be very easily reached into to maintain in a very sanitary manner. They are very simple and quick by simply unscrewing the handle to install and remove the blade. NOTE: Back in the day these vintage safety razors were made extremely well and to last. They provide a very economical alternative shaving method compared to the cost of present day safety razors and the shave quality doesn't show any inferiority. The blades are readily available as can be attested by the several companies that today, still make just the blades that are still being manufactured and sold in abundance.
